Who we are

Meyoru is a trading name of Touchstone Commerce Ltd, company number 17456309, registered office Marlcroft, 288 Newchurch Road, Rossendale, Lancashire BB4 7SN, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information we collect through meyoru.com. You can contact us at support@meyoru.com. Our store is hosted by Shopify.

What we collect

  • Contact details: your name, delivery and billing address, email address and phone number.
  • Order information: what you bought, what you paid and how you paid. Card details are handled by our payment providers and we do not see your full card number.
  • Account information: your login details and preferences, if you create an account.
  • Communications: messages you send us, such as support emails.
  • Device and usage information: your IP address, browser, device and the pages you view, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use it, and why

  • To take, deliver and support your order, including payments, refunds and customer service. We do this because we need to in order to carry out our contract with you.
  • To keep records and meet legal duties, such as tax and accounting. We keep order records for 6 years. This is a legal obligation.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the site secure. This is in our legitimate interests.
  • To improve our website and understand how it is used. This is in our legitimate interests, or based on your consent where non-essential cookies are involved.
  • To send you marketing emails. We do this with your consent, or, if you have bought from us before, because we think you may be interested in similar products. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • To show and measure our adverts on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. We do this with your consent through cookies.

Who we share it with

  • Shopify, which hosts our store and processes orders and payments.
  • Payment providers, such as Shopify Payments and PayPal.
  • Fulfilment and delivery partners, who receive your name, address, phone number and email so they can deliver your order. Some are based outside the UK.
  • Email, analytics and advertising services, including Meta, which help us communicate with customers and measure our advertising.
  • Professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of the companies we use are based outside the UK. Where that is the case, we make sure your information is protected by a lawful safeguard, such as a UK adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies that make the store work, such as your basket and checkout. With your consent we also use analytics and advertising cookies, including the Meta pixel. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies on the banner when you visit, and change your choice at any time through your cookie settings or your browser.

How long we keep it

We keep order and accounting records for 6 years. We keep marketing details until you unsubscribe. We keep support messages for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry and a reasonable time afterwards.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • have inaccurate information corrected
  • ask us to erase your information, in some circumstances
  • ask us to restrict how we use it
  • receive your information in a portable format
  • object to our use of it, including for direct marketing
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it

We do not make decisions about you using automated processing that has legal or similarly significant effects. To use any of your rights, email support@meyoru.com. We will reply within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Children

Our store is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, but no online service can be completely secure.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
